FootJoy Product Team DryJoys TourDryJoys Tour
DRYJOYS TOUR have been in development for close to three years now which included a lot of time with Tour players to determine how we could improve upon the existing DryJoy product. Zach Johnson loved the comfort of DryJoys, but needed more rigidity underfoot - a more stable base throughout his swing. Steve Stricker agreed and asked if there was any way we could make the DryJoys perform a little closer to SYNR-G without sacrificing the current fit and comfort. After several iterations and months of testing and tweaking, we are proud to reveal a state-of-the-art, next generation Stability PODS outsole for the new DRYJOYS TOUR category. Overall, the ground coverage has been engineered to deliver an increase of 27% over the current DryJoys – without question, a dramatic improvement in overall stability.

STEVE STRICKER Tri-Density TPU Stability PODSTri-Density TPU Stability PODS
Steve was integral in the development of this product. During a discussion at the 2008 Deutsche Bank Championship he mentioned how important his footwear was in achieving superior balance. While he always enjoyed the traditional styling, comfort and overall performance of DryJoys, he needed more stability on a week to week basis. He talked about how each course on Tour demanded something different and he wanted a shoe that would stand up to every challenge. With the addition of stability features like the new Tri-density TPU Stability PODS™ outsole, he now has his new go-to shoe. In fact, Steve was one of the first players to put a prototype pair into play during THE PLAYERS Championship.

BEN CRANE TPU-integrated EVA midsoleTPU-integrated EVA midsole
Ben has worn DryJoys pretty much exclusively since coming on Tour so we consulted with him throughout the development of DryJoys Tour. Ben wears DryJoys for comfort. For him, they are the most comfortable shoe he's ever worn and that's what he wants first and foremost when out on the course (and on his feet) for 4+ hours. Keeping that comfort while also adding features that dramatically improved his lateral stability was something he noticed when he first laced them up at Doral in 2010. Following a brief range session he said he could feel increased stability in his left foot as he transitioned through the impact area.Ben has already won in DryJoys Tour, capturing the Asia Pacific Classic in November, 2010.

ZACH JOHNSON Fiberglass Composite Support BridgeFiberglass Composite Support Bridge
Zach is another valuable member of our Tour staff and our product development process. He is a player who likes to experiment with all the latest technology we integrate in our products and is always interested in learning what's "next!" He constantly reminds us that his footwear is just as important to his game as any of the clubs in his golf bag. Much like Byrd, Zach is looking for comfort and stability and wants a shoe that performs under all conditions. He wants a shoe that locks him in place no matter what he encounters on the golf course and wants to be as confident on a sidehill lie as he is on a flat tee box. The Fiberglass Composite Support Bridge will help give Zach that lightweight mid-foot stability he needs no matter what the golf course throws at him.

JONATHAN BYRD Maximum OptiFlex ZonesMaximum OptiFlex Zones
We first introduced Jonathan to DryJoys Tour at the Shell Houston Open but he is very familiar with the DryJoys franchise. He has worn them most of his career and is mainly drawn to the traditional styling that perfectly compliments his golf game, demeanor and wardrobe. Jonathan, like Ben Crane, appreciates the comfort and flexibility offered in DryJoys via the Maximum OptiFlex zones. This channel, which enhances the golfer's comfort while walking, also keeps his foot in contact with the ground longer to deliver greater stability. It's what we call FLEXTABILITY.Jonathan wore DryJoys Tour en route to winning the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open with an ace in a three man playoff!
